Medical Scooters Gives Independence Back

As a youngster riding my bike, I often wished that it was motorized.  Well today I can have a motorized bike but now they are called Medical Scooters.  The seat is definitely more comfortable, bigger and softer.

I am sure you have seen the commercials with an elderly person out and about on their scooter.  There is even a commercial where two men are racing on Medical Scooters.  That is just what happens.  The scooter gives the elderly or handicapped a way to participate in life again.  This saves energy as not much is used scooting out and about.  This would be worth any price just for the independence factor alone.  I am positive that some elderly (especially men) do have races to see whose scooter goes the fastest.

Do you want to drive off road?  There is a scooter that you can use for the beach.  Sun bunnies can now get back to the beach.  How great is that?  I love the beach and would be sad if I could no longer go there.  This scooter will go right into the water and dump you out (gracefully of course) and you can swim. For me, this one would be a must have toy.  The wheels are larger and makes it possible to go hang at the beach.

There are different kinds of medical scooters you can buy but names to remember are Pride Vicotry, Jazzy, Pride Victory, Amigo, CTM, Shoprider, Schwinn, Electric and Bladez.  Any of these will have you cruising in no time.

Depending on your insurance carrier and the coverage it provides, it is possible that either insurance will pay for the entire amount or partial payment.  It must be medically necessary and a doctor will have to provide information that you need a scooter in your life.

Let's discuss cost for a minute.  Freedom does not have a price tag, but if your insurance does not cover a scooter, then you will need to pay.  Scooters vary in function, life of the battery and number of wheels.  Pricing ranges from $789.00 to a deluxe scooter that costs $2,779.

No matter what the cost medical scooters provide mobility to seniors and the handicap.  This form of transportation gives freedom to do what you want to and go where you want topee and that is invaluable.
